Where We Are

We are in a very big and ancient farm located near Monsaraz in Alentejo  - a knights templars middle age town next to the Alqueva, the largest artificial lake in Europe. With our very own ecosystem, we have managed to gather the best conditions for some great quality products. We have water abundancy, sunlight, and a thermal amplitude all year long, which allows us to produce a variety of products; From organic essence oils to organic Spelt flour.

The Organic Raw Materials

Cistus Ladanifer

Cistus ladanifer is a species of flowering plant in the family Cistaceae. It is native to the western Mediterranean region. Common names include gum rockrose, laudanum, labdanum, common gum cistus and brown-eyed rockrose.

It is a shrub growing 1–2.5 m (3 ft 3 in–8 ft 2 in) tall and wide. The leaves are evergreen, lanceolate, 3–10 cm long and 1–2 cm broad, dark green above and paler underneath. The flowers are 5–8 cm diameter, with 5 papery white petals, usually with a red to maroon spot at the base, surrounding the yellow stamens and pistils. The whole plant is covered with the sticky exudate of fragrant resin, the source of labdanum, used in herbal medicine and perfumery.

Lavandula Hybrida

Legitimate lavender produce this European hybrid with only a little help from pollinating bees. Lavandin develops extensively in France, between the lower fields of lavender and the high elevations of lavender. The flowers of blue or grayish hue are larger and more rigid than those of the other two species, but appear to have less curative powers having less relaxing and sleepy properties than lavender, but can be applied in the same way.

Rosmarinus Officinalis

Rosemary is an aromatic evergreen shrub with leaves similar to hemlock needles. It is native to the Mediterranean and Asia, but is reasonably hardy in cool climates. It can withstand droughts, surviving a severe lack of water for lengthy periods. Forms range from upright to trailing; the upright forms can reach 1.5 m (5 ft) tall, rarely 2 m (6 ft 7 in). The leaves are evergreen, 2–4 cm (0.8–1.6 in) long and 2–5 mm broad, green above, and white below, with dense, short, woolly hair.
